Tim Smith has combined fruit from 6 different vineyards (including a fair whack from an area in the Eden Valley) with a range of vine ages, some as old as 100 years to create this impressive, structured shiraz. White pepper and spicy plums with a hint of old French oak on the nose, balanced and controlled in the mouth. This is a wine that tastes like someone has put some real thought into it and is further proof that the Barossa can still produce wines with class that aren't overladen with oak and fruit.
