Botticella Grillo 2016
Gree-lo used to be only used in Marsala production on the Sicilian West Coast but a few pioneering producers in the early 1990s decided to vinify it as a dry table wine, with great results.
The variety loves a hot, arid climate and produces wonderful floral and fruity flavors but retaining freshness and vitality.
This Botticella is packed with peachy goodness, both in a floral, blossom sense and the juicy fleshy sense but finishes clean and dry. What a joy.
Hopefully we will see more Australian plantings but for now we'll have to make do with the real thing!
Put some pork chops and peach halves on the Grill(o) and serve with fresh mozzarella.
