BONDAR MCLAREN VALE FIANO
McLaren Vale, SA
There are over 350 different grape varieties grown in Italy so inevitably this list is going rep a few Italians. First up is Fiano, typically fresh and citrusy but can develop nutty and honeyed characteristics with age.
This South Australian Fiano is made as naturally as possible: fermented in a ceramic egg with no additions aside from a little sulphur before bottling. Quite amazing to find such careful, thoughtful winemaking at this price point.
Crisp, salty and lemony, this would be a treat with fish and chips.
